Vindicat Lustrum + Netherlands = 12,000 Poses in 12 Days

We here at TwitrPix HQ love when we see interesting ways of using social media to connect people. One of the most interesting uses was at the recent Vindicat Lustrum celebration in the Netherlands this month. Spanning from July 8-21, this event was part of the 195th anniversary for the Vindicat Atque Polit student organization. Over the 12 days, thousands of people joined the celebration by posing over 12,000 times in 3,013 photos.

How was it done? Using the Spark Booth app which we covered here, a computer, and a webcam, a kiosk was setup running Spark Booth in kiosk mode. Attendees simply had to walk up and pose, and their photo was instantly shared on Twitter using TwitrPix.

The event ended on the 21st and if a picture is truly worth a thousand words, then the last photo of the event seems to sum up the mood of having to leave.

Einde = End

Grab a drink, sit down and flip through some really great photos. We need to note, however, that these photos may not be entirely suitable for all ages or the work place.

Spark Booth + TwitrPix = Good Times

A photo booth is a good time regardless of how old or young you happen to be. I know I’ve taken some classic picts in a good ole’ photo booth at the Jersey Shore or Coney Island throughout the years. I even may have some funny ones of Cando’s Co-Founder, @centcreative laying around on my desk somewhere. Definitely good times.

So imagine our surprise when we got an email from the developer behind Spark Booth, John Wu. Spark Booth is an Adobe AIR app that lets you set up your own photo booth anywhere you happen to have a computer (w/ a web cam) and an internet connection. What makes Spark Booth really interesting is that its tied into the social ecosystem of Twitter. So besides being able to shoot 4 up photo strips and postcards that you can store on your local hard drive and print later, you can have them shared on Twitter using TwitrPix in real-time.

Run it in a fullscreen kiosk mode, add a custom image or logo for your party or event, customize the on-screen messages and you’re good to go. People line up with their friends, press the space bar and wait for the countdown timer to capture the moments. The photos are shared on Twitter using TwitrPix and guests can even add their Twitter username so they receive an @reply with a link to the photo.

Download Spark Booth (Windows / Mac OS X) and give it a try.
