Strips x TwitrPix

A great new iOS app just hit the Apple App store called “Strips.” It launches as new way to share photos using annotated photos chained together into “strips” similar to threads. TwitrPix has become the default Twitter photo sharing service for this exciting new app and we are thrilled to be part of the experience!

From the developer:

Strips is a new way to share thoughts and pictures, through the power of comics. Take a photo and Strips will convert it into a funny and customizable sketch for your strip. Create strips contests, compete, interact and share sketches with friends and strangers, all through the comics paradigm. Share your favorite strips with friends through the web, email and twitter.

TweetTime Adds TwitrPix as Main Photo Sharing Service

We’re pleased to announce that the latest version of TweetTime for the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch has just been released sporting the integration of TwitrPix as it’s default photo sharing service for Twitter. TweetTime is chock full of really cool features such as:

  1. Multiple twitter account support
  2. Landscape keyboard mode
  3. Uploading photos from library or camera using TwitrPix
  4. Uploading videos using TwitVid
  5. Updating your location using Google Map & geotagging tweets
  6. Built-in web browser
  7. Built-in URL shortening
  8. Search near by tweets using Google Map

Besides being a great milestone for TwitrPix, here’s one of the best compliments from the app developer:

I recommend twitrpix.com. It is quite fast.

Looking at what’s out there, we’ve been making lots of progress to being the fastest photo sharing services out there. Faster pageloads = better user experience. Good to see people are noticing.

iPhone 3.0… Should RIM and Google Be Worried?

iphoneIn typical fanfare, Apple’s iPhone 3.0 preview appears to have brought the most requested features that users have been asking for.

  • Copy & Paste – Perhaps a basic feature, but one that has been severely lacking is now as simple as a double-tap and the typical draq and you’re done.  You can also apparently copy/paste multiple items including photos.
  • Spotlight Search – If you’ve been using a Mac, then you’re familiar with the Spotlight Search functionality of Mac OS X.  Well, Apple has brought this to the iPhone and you can, as far as we can tell, search through anything on the iPhone.
  • Push Notification – Allows data to be pushed to the device without apps running in the background to accept it.  This has been one of the reasons why the iPhone has had decreased battery life as many apps would typically need to run in the background to receive the data.
  • MMS Support - Previously lacking on the iPhone, you’ll soon be able to send MMS with attached media.  As the built-in Mail client allowed you to do this, there wasn’t a great need as you had another option.  Good to see the iPhone is supporting MMS correctly.
  • Device File Transfer – One of the coolest features is being able to transfer data from one iPhone (and iPod Touch I believe) to another device using Bluetooth.  Word was there was a self-discovery feature through Wi-fi which would fallback to Bluetooth for the actual transfer.
