Screentweetr Integrates TwitrPix

screentweetrOne of the really cool things about Twitter is the diverse types of applications which tie into the Twittersphere — Screentweetr is one of those.

Screentweetr is an Adobe AIR application from James Ford and Mark Starling from Psyked that enables you to quickly post screenshots to Twitter image services (like TwitrPix). What’s really interesting is that for developers and web designers, it gives you keyboard shortcuts to quickly take a screenshot and upload it.

Using Screentweetr, you can screenshot the entire desktop, a selection of your screen or a specific application window. Once you capture your screenshot, you can have it automatically uploaded to TwitrPix and shared on Twitter. Very cool.

You can download Screentweetr for free on the Adobe AIR Marketplace. For a list of apps with TwitrPix integrated, click here.

Enjoy.

The Cando Update for 7/6/09

Lots of things going on behind-the-scenes.

  1. We’ve recently updated the TwitrPix APIt to version 1.2 and added some cool features
  2. Updated TwitrPix Express for Firefox to version 1.1 — added some enhanced features for authentication and tested up to Firefox version 3.5.
  3. TwitrPix has been explosive recently as more and more of TwitrPix intergrated apps have been released into the wild. Many thanks to the cool devs that have worked it into the mix!
  4. New Cando site in the works
  5. Cando’s NJ office has relocated south to North Carolina

Quite a few new TwitrPix features are being released over the next 2 weeks. Very exciting times.

TwitrPix… the road ahead.

We’ve been really happy with the development progress behind-the-scenes with TwitrPix. At a recent discussion of the project with associates, the topic came up of why an alternative. Our answer was simply, “Why not?” The beauty of the internet is that you cannot remain in a holding pattern. Things change online at the speed of light. This was one of our main concerns with using other services as normal users — we didn’t see develop foster as quickly as it should nor were we confident in the reliability of the services we tried. So yes, we are David when it comes to this space we’re trekking through.

With that being said, we have a really great roadmap ahead of us in the coming weeks. The goal is to simply make the easiest and coolest application to share photos on Twitter out there. Without giving away too much, I can say that we will be posting new feature updates the day (or night) its pushed into production. Although things have been somewhat quiet on the blog about it, we’ve actually done 3 updates recently.

Looking forward to seeing some great photos this Memorial Day weekend. Yes, we’d like to see those family BBQ photos, the photo of Uncle Ed with more food on his plate than he should be eating, Cousin John which you haven’t seen in years (but yet he always shows up once a year for the BBQ), your 2nd cousin Lisa trying to moonwalk after one to many Coronas. Send them in, not only would we like to see them but I’m sure your friends on Twitter would as well.

Be safe.

TwitrPix Alpha Launch

It’s always to a good feeling to come out of the weekend being productive. Cando just quietly launched the alpha version of TwitrPix after 4 glorious days just in time for my 2nd wedding anniversay. I don’t quite think my wife would appreciate me if I was stuck at a computer trying to wrap things up. There’s a lot of new features we are already developing, unfortunately we can’t say what they are. However, look for 1-2 new features each week for the next few weeks as we ramp things up a bit. As with all of our projects, we value your opinion so let us know if there are specific features you would like to see in TwitrPix!
